Kürüm Iron has earned itself a niche in the international market with competitive prices and quality, and is now consolidating its position in the market by investing in modernization in order to leverage quality levels.
THANKS TO ITS NEWLY BUILT FACILITY, KÜRÜM DEMİR ACHIEVED ITS PROJECTED GROWTH IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS AND REACHED ITS 2007 TARGETS IN BOTH VOLUME AND TURNOVER.
Founded in 1975 and serving as the driving force of Kürüm Holding, Kürüm Demir arrived at its present status of being one of the largest industrial production companies of Turkey after more than 30 years of successful activities.
With its headquarters and steel works at Gebze, Kocaeli, 50 km from Istanbul, Kürüm Demir produces 8-10 mm range flat and ribbed structural iron and 12m pin steel bars. Kürüm Demir created a niche market for itself by prioritizing the production of 8mm, thin products, which are found to be ton per meter hardest to process in the Turkish market.
A 17 thousand m 2 -area of land next to the Gebze facilities was purchased in 2006 and its annual production capacity was raised to 444,600 tons through factory expansion project started in 2007.
In June 2007, the factory was temporarily put on hold, disassembled and reconstructed in only four months to double the capacity. Despite interruption to the production, the newly constructed facility succeeded in achieving the projected increase in production in the last three-month period and 2007 targets in both volume and turnover were met.
Product diversification and broader sales range through commodity acquisitions policy made significant contributions to fulfillment of the 2007 targets. Kürüm Demir satisfies its log requirements thanks to its long lasting and excellent relationships with domestic producers.
Kürüm Demir provides services for both wholesalers and end-customers. It has adopted a direct sales policy to end-customers. Deliveries are made from the Company's İkitelli-Küçükçekmece depot to the Thrace region and from the factory site to Anatolia to ensure speedy sales and better end-customer services.
Having the power to distribute its products to every corner of Turkey, the Company acts with targeted precision without regional bias and hence manages to maintain its widespread and uninterrupted presence in the market. Kürüm Demir strives to promote customer satisfaction by directly delivering to final destinations with its own vehicles. Kürüm Demir has become the sought after and preferred company in the sector by correctly defining customer needs, by investing in its transport fleet to ensure speedy deliveries of good and by maintaining its high quality services.
Today, with its 444,600-ton capacity production and 391,785-ton sales volume, the Company is in a powerful position in the market. Factors that differentiate Kürüm Demir from its competitors in the industry and give it the upper hand are as follows:

Thanks to such superior attributes, Kürüm Demir was able to increase its production by 12% and sales by 24% in 2007 compared to the previous year. In 2007, the total sales was US$ 342.3 million. This figure represents an increase of 63.7% compared to the previous year. 77% of Kürüm Demir's sales are direct sales from production. Sales made to its sister company in Albania, Kürüm International, constitute 12% of the total sales.
Kürüm Demir conducts its production processes in full compliance with the TSE Manufacturing Competence Certificate No: 34.14.01.3782 and the TSE 708 Product Compliance Certificate it holds.
The Company, which has a young and dynamic team, has declared its 2008 targets as follows:
• To sell all goods produced,
• To double the purchases of commodities executed in 2007,
• To rank among the first 150 of the top 500 industrial corporations in Turkey,
• To make operational TEMKOR and automated packaging systems, infrastructure of which were prepared in 2007, and continue producing top quality goods,
• To exceed 2007 export volumes and further strengthen its market position,
• To continue its customer-oriented work without compromising quality, by widening its sales network.
