In the press release published by Turkish Kürüm company, it has been reported that the serious investments done to eliminate the environmental pollution problem created by the iron-steel production in Elbasan, are about to finish. The authorities confirm that this project which is one of a kind in Albania, is done following the EU standards. The investments on this area have started in the year 2003 and are worth 11 million USD.
The authorities report that they now reached to the last level, and the application of the project is conducted by specialized Turkish and Italian engineering companies. They also stated that they experienced some difficulties in application due to technological difficulties and they provided extra strengthening for the buildings.
